Discussions now abound on the reconsideration of the \"Japanese hiring practices.\" At the same time, from a mid- to long-term perspective, aging of the population is expected to reduce the share of young workers while encouraging women's social advancement. As the socio-economic environment of the workers change in these ways, the workers are themselves expected to change the way they are and the way they think. For instance, they may have diversified their values and life styles, or they may have reconsidered their loyalty to the company, which has been described as \"in the same boat\" or \"selfless
