This survey was conducted in order to capture (1) the extent of globalization as indicated, for example, by parent companies' overseas operation, (2) the effects of globalization on wages and working conditions as well as on training and transmission of skills (a factor which has supported the manufacturing industry), and (4) problems of globalization. As such, this survey is in line with the series of management surveys we have conducted on business relations and working hours, high skills at small and midsize manufacturers, and wage determination at small and midsize
