One of the advantages of respondents directly inputting their responses into laptop computers is the ability to more accurately investigate “socially desirable” questions such as on voting and privacy.As principal survey items, we set up “voting and political participation,” “expectations for society and politics,” “attitude toward political party supported and policy issues in the election,” “knowledge and evaluation of politics,” and “respondent’s attributes.”*There are survey items that are common to the pre-election survey and the post-election survey, as well as survey items that are different.In addition, this research group has been conducting national opinion polls on a continuous basis, mainly during national elections, since 2003.
