However, the environment surrounding medical care has changed drastically due to the rapidly declining birthrate and the speedily aging population, the sluggish economic situation, the progress of medical technology, the change in disease structure, and the change in consumers’ consciousness. It is thought that health and medical service needs are diversifying and becoming more sophisticated due to these changes in the socio-economic environment in combination with changes in consumers' health awareness. Furthermore, people’s needs and behaviors regarding medical insurance are also expected to change.\n\nThis survey assesses actual health and medical service needs by capturing consumers’ related awareness and behaviors.
