At the time of this survey (2005), no such model had appeared on the market since early August.\n\nIn view of the environment in which parlors exist, although the number of parlors is decreasing, parlor size is steadily increasing, and competition for opening parlors is intensifying between local and national chains.\n\nIn this survey, the types of players were classified according to their characteristics for the first time in five years and analyzed and then compared with the survey conducted in summer 2001.\n\nThe questionnaire was conducted on a nationwide scale, and the mail survey was conducted in two stages: a [screening survey] and a [main survey]. These surveys also characterized the actual state of play among players and the awareness and structure of the segment of dormant players who are not currently playing. These surveys also placed focus on players’ expectations and awareness of their pachinko/pachislot play, their intent to play in the future, and their reasons for not
