In the past, students were selected based on their \"deviation value\"; today, more and more students are selected based on a multifaceted evaluation of their abilities, including recommendations, interviews, and essays. Additionally, confidence in the trajectory of \"good schooling => good employment => happy life\" has collapsed, and the meaning of high school education for students is expected to change as a result. How have these systemic changes in high school entrance examinations alongside changes in the social structure affected third-year junior high school students’ attitudes toward entering high school?\n\n　In an attempt to answer the above question, this survey was conducted with the intention of comparing the results with those of a survey conducted in 1988 (Monographs: The World of Junior High School Students, Vol. 30, \"Entering High School: Exploring the Reality of the 'Spring of '15'\").\n\n　The 1988 survey asked third-year junior high school students who had just completed their high school entrance examinations about their attitudes toward the examinations.
