Except for the two months of July and August 1945, these surveys continued to be conducted until (and including) January 1947. In December 1946, a revised new survey under the same name was started under the direction of the General Headquarters of the Supreme Commander for the Allied Powers, with both the old and the new Maitsuki Rodo Tokei Maitsuki Chosa being conducted in January 1947. \nEstablishments to be surveyed were selected by the prefectural governors, the directors of regional mining offices (from January 1946 the directors of [commerce and industry bureaus/offices of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry]), and the directors of shipping bureaus.
