(In English, the current name, Family Income and Expenditure Survey, is used from 1951 onward.)  Prior to this name change, the switch back to the submission of household account books was made in November 1952, and in January 1953 the classification of expenditures was changed from a commodity classification to a use classification. \n\nIn October 1954, the sampling of households was changed from randomly sampling worker households and other households together to determining the number of worker households and other households to be sampled based on the results of the Population Census.\n\nIn December 1955, the number of sampling units from which surveyed households were selected was tripled, and the number of surveyed households from one sampling unit was reduced to one-third.\n\nWhile the method of using a \"Household questionnaire,\" a \"Household account book,\" and a \"Table
