This survey was extended to seven countries with which Japan has deep relationships (South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines) to learn union leaders' understandings of the state and issues of the local labor movements. The survey thereby tried to clarify issues involved in international labor movements and to derive a future direction which Japanese unions should take in promoting international labor activities. The survey has two parts: a questionnaire for national centers or industrial labor organizations and a questionnaire for union leaders at the workplace level.
