| 概要 | 近年，人々の働き方や家族のあり方が大きく変化しており，住宅をはじめとする資産への社会的な関心が高まっている。これまでの貧困研究では,「貧困の女性化」が注目されていたが，今日では，住宅を取得する女性が増加するという新たな局面を迎えている。このような傾向は，公共政策として住宅を供給してきたイギリスでは特に顕著であるが，持ち家政策を奨励してきた日本などの先進諸国に共通して見られる現象でもある。こうした状況を背景に，2002年に「女性と資産に関する研究」プロジェクトが開始された。このプロジェクトは，イギリスおよび日本の25～54歳の女性に対してアンケート調査を実施し，女性の資産所有の実態や意識をさまざまな角度から分析し，従来世帯単位で把握されてきた住宅所有を個人単位で把握しようとしたものである。また，日本調査（以下，日本調査）と同時期に，岩田正美（日本女子大学教授）が55歳から64歳の日本人女性を対象に同じ調査票を使用した調査（以下，岩田調査）を行っており，こちらのデータも収録されている。 Recent years have seen significant changes in ways of working and how families should be, and social interest in residences and other forms of property has grown. Previous studies on poverty have focused on the “feminization of poverty,” but we are now reaching a new stage, where women are increasingly acquiring property. This trend is particularly notable in the United Kingdom, which has supplied housing as public policy, but it is a phenomenon that can also be observed throughout developed countries, such as Japan, which has encouraged policies in favor of home ownership. In such circumstances, the “Research on Women and Property” project commenced in 2002. The project conducted questionnaire surveys of women aged 25 to 54 years in the UK and Japan, analyzed the reality of and attitudes to women’s ownership of property from a range of perspectives, and sought to gather at an individual level knowledge about home ownership, which has conventionally been gathered at a household level. In addition, around the same time as the survey in Japan (below, the Japan Survey), Professor Masami Iwata (Japan Women’s University) conducted a survey of Japanese women aged 55 to 64 years using the same questionnaire (hereinafter, the Iwata Survey), and the data from this are stored as well. |
