| 概要 | 日本は，長い間，良好な治安が維持されている国であるとの評価が定着していた。しかし，近年，社会的，国際的な情勢の変化によりそうした評価が揺らぎつつある。実際，犯罪数の増加，なかでも日本の将来を担う青少年による犯罪の増加，そして検挙率の低下がしばしば取り上げられている。一方，国民が肌で感じる犯罪の脅威の度合い，いわゆる体感治安についてもその悪化傾向がみられる。 こうした状況を踏まえ，本調査は，犯罪の被害にあう不安，少年の非行・犯罪，体感治安の変化及び防犯対策に関する住民の意識についてアンケート調査し，住民の治安に関する意識を知る基礎資料とすることを目的として実施したものである。また，今後も定期的に同種の調査を行い，治安に関する住民の意識の変化を数字で追うことを念頭に置いて実施している。 なお，本調査は(社)新情報センターの第66回SJCPOLLによる調査である。 For a long time, Japan has had an established reputation as a country with stable and strong public safety. However, in the recent years, that reputation is starting to waver because of the changes in societal and international conditions. The concerned issues include the actual rise in number of offenses and (within that category) the increase in the number of crimes committed by young people, who are the future of Japan, and the decreasing crime clearance rate. These negative trends have also been observed in the physical sense of public safety and the extent to which citizens understand the threat of crimes based on their experiences. Based on these conditions, this survey examines public awareness concerning the anxiety of crime victimization, juvenile delinquency/crime, changes in the physical sense of public safety, and crime prevention measures. It was conducted with the objective of providing the basic materials for understanding people’s awareness of public safety. The same type of survey will be conducted periodically in the future to consider through quantitative research the changes in people’s perceptions of public safety. This survey was carried out as a part of the 66th SJCPOLL by the Shin Joho Center, Inc. |
