| 概要 | 2002年4月から「完全学校週5日制」が実施された。学校から開放され，子どもがのびのびと自由に過ごせる時間を保障したい，といった願いを込めて導入されたはずだが，当初の理念と異なる方向に進んでいるようである。 「完全学校週5日制」の導入によって，学校からゆとりが消えた。平日の5日間が忙しいだけに，土曜日の使い方が問題になる。地域や親が中心となった，子どもの体験活動を促す計画も進んでいるが，多くの子どもは土曜日をくつろぐ日にしている。 また，私立校の多くは土曜日に授業を実施して，公立校との差を明らかにしようとしている。そうした動きをみて，公立校でも土曜日の活用を試みる動きが生まれている。その他，学習塾の土曜講座へ通う子どもも増えている。親の経済的なゆとりによって土曜日の使い方が決まることにもなる。 こうした状況下，土曜日をどう使ったらよいのかを根本から再検討する必要がある。そのため本調査では，当事者である中学生に，そうした状況をどう感じているのか，「完全学校週5日制」についての評価等について尋ねている。 In April 2002, the 5-day school week was introduced with the hope of giving children more out-of-school leisure time. However, the reality seems to be moving in a different direction than the original idea. With the introduction of the 5-day school week, there is little room for relaxation during schooltime. All 5 weekdays are so busy that the use of children’s time on holiday Saturdays has become problematic. There are plans underway to encourage children to participate in hands-on activities with their parents and in the local community on Saturdays, but many children use the day to relax. Additionally, many private schools are holding classes on Saturdays to distinguish themselves from public schools. Given this trend, some public schools are also trying to offer Saturday classes. An increasing number of children are also attending Saturday classes at cram schools. Furthermore, parents’ financial freedom is a determinant of how children spend their Saturdays. Under these circumstances, it is necessary to fundamentally reexamine how Saturdays should be used. For this reason, this survey asked affected junior high school students to share their feelings about the situation and evaluate the fulltime 5-day school week. |
