| 概要 | The Japanese General Social Surveys (JGSS) Project is a Japanese version of the General Social Survey (GSS) project closely replicating the original GSS of the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago. It provides data for analyses of Japanese society, attitudes, and behaviors, which makes possible international comparisons. JGSS-2008 includes two components, a face to face interview and a self-administered questionnaire. In JGSS-2008, respondents were asked about their demographic and background information (education, employment, employment history, marital status, number and age of children, family and household composition, household income), their attitudes and behaviors (habitual behaviors, membership in organizations, leisure, trust in people and institutions, religion, views on family, gender and politics, social class, and their neighborhood environment) as well as a module from East Asian Social Survey (EASS): EASS 2008 Globalization and Culture in East Asia. There are two forms of self-administered questionnaire (Form A and Form B) in JGSS-2008. While Form A mainly incudes JGSS routine questions, Form B includes questions on the 2008 EASS Globalization module . JGSS-2008 dataset is published on the following data archives. JGSS は、General Social Survey (GSS)に範を取り、国際比較を視野に入れているが、日本社会と人々の意識や行動の実態を把握することに主眼をおいている。調査対象者の世帯構成、就業や生計の状況、両親や配偶者の職業、対象者の政治意識、家族観、人生観、死生観、宗教、余暇活動、犯罪被害など広範囲の調査事項を網羅し、さまざまな問題関心から分析ができる調査データの構築を目指している。 JGSS-2008 は、面接調査と留置調査を併用した。JGSS-2008 には、対象者の属性に関する設問（対象者の15歳の頃の居住地、兄弟姉妹の数、学歴、現在の就労状況、過去の就労経験、婚姻状況、子どもの性別・年齢、世帯構成、世帯収入など）、調査対象者の意識や行動に関する設問（生活習慣、団体への所属、余暇活動、人間観・信頼観、生死観、信仰、宗教活動、家族・ジェンダー、政治や政府に対する意識と評価、社会階層、医療関係、法律関係、社会道徳や性道徳、生活環境など）に加えて、EASS 2008のテーマである「東アジアの文化とグローバリゼーション（Globalization and Culture in East Asia）」モジュールが含まれる。 JGSS-2008のデータセットは、以下のデータ・アーカイブで公開している。 日本：JGSSDDS (https://jgssdds.repo.nii.ac.jp) 米国：ICPSR (https://www.icpsr.umich.edu) ドイツ：GESIS (https://www.gesis.org) 個票データの入手方法はアーカイブにより異なりますので、それぞれのホームページをご覧ください。 |
