| 概要 | 本調査は、1976年の「日本人の生活価値観調査」(第1回調査)、高齢化の進行・女性の社会進出・高度情報化など社会環境の著しい変化に対応して1985年行われた第2回調査、バブル経済の進行と崩壊など著しい社会環境の変化を考慮して行われた1991年の第3回調査、の流れを汲んだもので、1990年代の日本人の生活価値観の変化動向を探るために第4回調査として企画されたものである。本調査は、次の3点を目的としている。①日本人の「家族」、「人間関係」、「生き方」、「働き方」の4つの分野に関する考え方の特徴の把握、②日本人の生活価値観の抽出、③生活価値観と生活意識の関連の把握。その結果として、「自分志向」、「自己顕示志向」、「集団重視志向」、「安楽志向」の4つの生活価値観が見い出され、この20年間で生活価値観の個人化と多様化が進んできたことが指摘されている。 This survey is the fourth of our series of research on the Japanese values, preceded by the first "Study of Japanese Values" in 1976, the second in 1985, and the third in 1991. The second survey was conducted in response to the aging society, women's progress, advanced information and other substantial changes in the social environment, and the third one was conducted in consideration of another set of such changes, including the progress and rupture of the bubble economy. The present one aims at investigating trends in the values held by the Japanese in the 1990s, and has three objectives: (1) to grasp the characteristics of the views the Japanese people have of the "family," "human relations," "way of life," and "way of working"; (2) to derive their values in life; and (3) to grasp the relationships between the values in life and their consciousness about life. After identifying four values in life--self orientation (jibun-shiko ), orientation toward self-exposure (jiko-kenji shiko ), orientation toward group emphasis (shudan jushi shiko ), and orientation toward easiness (anraku shiko )-the study points out that individualization and diversification have progressed in the Japanese values over the past 20 years. |
