| 概要 | 「基本調査」を「甲調査」、「小事業調査」を「乙調査」とし、乙調査も事業主による自計式の調査になった。 The basic census became Census Part A and the small-establishment census became Census Part B, and Census Part B also became self-administered by establishments. |

| 母集団 | 日本国内に所在する、調査時の日本標準産業分類における「大分類F－製造業」の国及び公共企業体に属するものを除くすべての事業所。ただし、製造工場と離れている本社事務所のような非現場は調査しなかった。 All establishments in Japan that at the time of the census were classified as belonging to Division F: Manufacturing of the Japan Standard Industrial Classification, except those belonging to the national government or to public or government corporations. However, non-manufacturing sites such as head offices at a separate location from the manufacturing plant were not included in the census. |
